Major Objectives of Quality System

  • to perform fire tests of materials and products applying test methods recognized at the international level;
  • to ensure continuous conformance of the test laboratory to the requirements of standard LST EN ISO/IEC 17025 and other criteria specified by the accreditation body;
  • to ensure and improve high quality of provided services, meet all requirements of customers.

Accredited Activities

Fire Research Centre Products Research Division (hereinafter FRC PRD) is accredited for performance of the following fire tests in accordance with standard methods.

In addition  FRC PRD is accredited to carry out assessment of reaction to fire, fire resistance, resistance to exposure of external fire of construction products according to assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCoP) system 3 described in of Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Unaccredited Activities

FRC PRD also performs a number of unaccredited tests which are both standard and validated non-standard in accordance with test methodology GTC/GBM prepared by FRC.

Method Selection

For the purposes of method selection the priority is given to international, regional or national standards. FRC PRD uses only the latest versions of the valid standards. FRC PRD also applies methods prepared by them provided they suit the intended application. If a client does not indicate what method should be applied, FRC PRD selects necessary methods taking into consideration that namely the selected method would ensure the reaction-to-fire parameter (characteristics) being determined in the most effective manner. The client is informed about the method selected.

Cooperation with Clients

FRC PRD cooperates with its clients or their representatives as in this way it benefits in finding out the requests of any client. To improve the quality of provided services FRC PRD asks clients to complete a Questionnaire(form KSD-107).

FRC PRD informs a client about any delay in and deviation from test activities.

FRC PRD gives a client or his representative access to the laboratory to watch the tests being performed to them.

FRC PRD tries not to perform any works, which could reduce trust in competence of FRC, their objectivity, fairness or integrity of activities; for this purpose FRC PRD:

  • informs clients on accredited tests performed;
  • uses the status of the accredited laboratory only for performance of accredited tests and presentation of results for such tests;
  • in case tests are performed not in accordance with methods specified in accreditation area or with some deviations from this method, the results of such tests are considered as those of unaccredited tests.
